Julep Health is, to our knowledge, the first clinic in the country to deploy a fully on-premises, custom-built AI system for generalized use across both clinical care and administrative operations.
For the AI that works alongside our clinicians, we didn't settle for an off-the-shelf product. We built our own. Our bespoke clinical AI stack is wholly owned by our clinic, runs on our own local GPU servers, and was purpose-designed to meet the unique demands of healthcare — where patient privacy is non-negotiable and the cost of getting it wrong is too high.
Why We Built Our Own AI

Private by Design
Our clinical AI runs on servers inside our own clinic. When it works with your medical records, that processing happens on hardware we own and operate — your chart is not handed to an outside AI company. Your medical information stays exactly where it should: with your doctor.
On-Premises GPU Infrastructure
We operate our own dedicated GPU servers on-site. This gives us complete control over performance, uptime, and security — and eliminates the per-query costs that make cloud AI prohibitively expensive for continuous clinical use.
Custom-Built & Wholly Owned
Our clinical AI stack was built in-house and belongs entirely to our clinic. No vendor lock-in and no per-seat licensing for the system our clinicians rely on every day. We control the code, the models, and the roadmap.

Where We Do — and Don't — Use Cloud AI
Our clinical AI — the system described above — runs on our own on-premises servers. Separately, a few online convenience features use carefully selected third-party AI services over encrypted connections: the chat assistant and symptom helper on this website, our SMS texting assistant, and the short educational explanations of lab tests in our patient portal. These convenience tools do not have access to your medical chart. As with any online chat, please don't include personal medical details you wouldn't share outside the clinic — for anything personal, message us through the patient portal or call our office.
